Jalen Hurts continues to make an impact throughout Philadelphia, and his latest partnership will help support children and families across the region. Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia announced that the Eagles quarterback will serve as the official champion of the second annual I Heart CHOP Run, Walk & Virtual Challenge. The in-person event, presented by Philadelphia Insurance Companies, will be held April 25, 2027, at FDR Park in South Philadelphia. It will include a 3-mile run and a 1.5-mile family fun walk. Participants can also support the hospital remotely through a month-long virtual challenge scheduled for May 1-31.
“When you wear No. 1, people expect greatness,” Hurts said. “When you support Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, you help
deliver it.”
Hurts said he cares deeply about Philadelphia’s youth and views the event as an opportunity for the community to support the hospital’s mission of providing healing and hope to children. The inaugural event attracted more than 7,000 participants and raised more than $1.7 million. Participants forming teams for the 2027 event can raise money for CHOP’s Children’s Fund or choose a specific area of the hospital that holds personal significance.
The Children’s Fund supports programs, research, facilities, and patient care across the hospital without restricting donations to one specific use.
Hurts has consistently used his platform to support young people and underserved communities. Serving as the event’s official champion gives him another opportunity to connect the Eagles with a cause that reaches families throughout Philadelphia.
