This projection assumes Philadelphia keeps Jalen Hurts, Tanner McKee and Cole Payton at quarterback, retains Carson Steele
alongside its top three running backs, and selects Britain Covey over Elijah Moore for a sixth receiver spot.
This final prediction is a simple and fun forecast, not an indication that any player has been released or agreed to a practice-squad contract.
Projected 16-player practice squad
International exemption: DT Uar Bernard
Philadelphia designated Bernard for its international-player exemption earlier this year. In this projection, the Eagles use that pathway to continue developing him outside the standard 16-player group. That would still require the appropriate roster process, including clearing waivers if he is waived. The exemption is not a guarantee that another team cannot acquire him. What could change the projection?
Weru recorded a sack in the preseason loss to New England and could show too much upside to risk his freakish athletic ability to another team's waiver claim. Pierce and Moore may find better opportunities elsewhere. Wade could force his way onto Philadelphia’s initial roster or attract another team. An offensive line injury could move Hinton, Jordan or Majors into a more immediate role. Wisniewski’s health also matters. If he is not medically cleared, a reserve-list decision may be necessary instead of an immediate practice-squad signing.
The Eagles will likely add players released by other clubs. The goal is not simply to preserve as much of the training-camp roster as possible. It is to build the most useful group behind the initial 53.
