Philadelphia Eagles coach Nick Sirianni is not considering removing Cam Jurgens from the starting left guard spot after another difficult offensive performance.
“No, I’m pleased with where Cam is,” Sirianni said Monday. “There’s going to be plays he wants back.”
Jurgens moved from center to left guard after Landon Dickerson was placed on injured reserve, allowing Drew Kendall to enter the lineup at center. The adjustment was designed to put Philadelphia’s preferred five available linemen on the field, but the new combination has struggled to produce consistent protection or movement in the running game.
Jurgens allowed five pressures during Sunday’s 24-20 loss to the Los Angeles Rams, according to SumerSports. Kendall allowed two, Tyler Steen three,
and rookie right tackle Markel Bell four. Jordan Mailata allowed one in an uneven performance. The Eagles finished with 172 total yards, converted none of their 12 third-down attempts and went scoreless in the second half. Jalen Hurts completed 12 of 27 passes for 93 yards and two touchdowns while playing behind a line missing Lane Johnson and Dickerson.
Nick Sirianni said he was fine with Cam Jurgens at LG when asked about making a change, and said there are plays Jurgens would want back, but that it’s not all on him.

Sirianni acknowledged the entire offense failed to produce the desired result and said Jurgens had snaps he would want back. He stopped short, however, of suggesting another lineup change. Philadelphia now must prepare for Jacksonville while awaiting an update on Johnson’s availability. Unless that evaluation changes the line's overall composition, Jurgens is expected to remain at left guard, with Kendall continuing at center.
