Nick Sirianni's team is down 7-0 and must climb out of that hole without its top offensive playmaker. The Philadelphia Eagleslisted Saquon Barkley as questionable to return after the star running back suffered a stinger on the opening play of Sunday’s Week 2 matchup against the Tennessee Titans.
Barkley carried the football for no gain on Philadelphia’s first offensive snap and appeared to be experiencing discomfort on his left side after the play. He initially went into the blue medical tent on the Eagles’ sideline before leaving for the locker room for further evaluation. Philadelphia subsequently announced that Barkley was dealing with a stinger. His questionable designation leaves open the possibility that he could return, although the Eagles will
have to determine whether he can safely resume playing.

Barkley entered Sunday after rushing for 83 yards on 15 carries in Philadelphia’s 24-22 season-opening victory over the Washington Commanders. His ability to create explosive plays as a runner and receiver remains central to Sean Mannion’s offense. Tank Bigsby and Will Shipley are Philadelphia’s other available running backs. Bigsby offers the size and physicality to handle early-down carries, while Shipley provides speed and receiving ability.
Barkley’s absence also puts more responsibility on Jalen Hurts and Philadelphia’s passing game. Hurts threw three touchdown passes against Washington, including two to Dallas Goedert. The Eagles entered the afternoon attempting to improve to 2-0 during their first road game of the season. Barkley’s condition and potential return will remain one of the game’s most important developments.
