The Eagles released their final unofficial preseason depth chart
ahead of Friday night’s matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals at Lincoln Financial Field. Training camp depth charts are always fluid and typically do not represent the coaching staff's true feelings at key positions. It does, however, provide another look at Philadelphia’s roster hierarchy before the preseason concludes and the roster is reduced to 53 players Sunday.Several notable competitions remain unresolved, while Jordan Mims and Jaylen Mahoney are not included because the depth chart was compiled before their signings.
Andy Dalton and Tanner McKee remain tied at QB2
Jalen Hurts is listed as the starter, followed by Dalton and McKee with an “or” designation. Rookie Cole Payton remains fourth. The chart does not reflect
McKee’s statistical advantage during the preseason. He completed 16 of 22 passes for 173 yards and two touchdowns against New England, while Dalton finished 3-for-10 for 44 yards.
McKee has produced the stronger preseason performance, but Philadelphia continues evaluating the entire body of work.
Eagles identify their top three wide receivers
DeVonta Smith, Makai Lemon and Dontayvion Wicks occupy the three starting receiver positions. Hollywood Brown is listed behind Smith, Elijah Moore is listed behind Lemon, and Darius Cooper sits behind Wicks. Britain Covey and Quez Watkins share the spot behind Moore, and Covey would hold any advantage thanks to his special team abilities.
The starting trio appears settled, leaving Philadelphia to determine how many receivers it can carry and which backups provide the greatest special teams value.
Carson Steele remains fifth at running back
Saquon Barkley leads a running back group that includes Tank Bigsby, Will Shipley, Dameon Pierce and Steele, in that order. Steele’s placement illustrates why unofficial depth charts should not be treated as definitive. He produced 33 rushing yards, six catches for 84 yards and a touchdown against New England, strengthening his case for a hybrid fullback role, while Pierce has yet to play and has just returned to practice.
Dallas Goedert leads the tight ends, followed by Johnny Mundt, Eli Stowers, Grant Calcaterra, Cameron Latu, E.J. Jenkins and Stone Smartt.
Eagles have established their reserve offensive line order
Philadelphia’s starting offensive line remains Jordan Mailata, Landon Dickerson, Cam Jurgens, Tyler Steen and Lane Johnson. Fred Johnson is listed as the second left tackle, Michael Jordan backs up Dickerson, and Drew Kendall sits behind Jurgens. Jake Majors is the second right guard, while rookie Markel Bell is listed behind Lane Johnson at right tackle.
Willie Lampkin is third at center, but that could be deceiving considering his strong training camp performance. Myles Hinton appears at both left tackle and left guard, demonstrating the versatility Philadelphia values among its reserves.
Ty Robinson’s rise appears on the depth chart
The starting defensive front includes Nolan Smith, Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis, Moro Ojomo and Jalyx Hunt. Robinson is listed directly behind Davis after recording three sacks during the first two preseason games. Byron Young follows Carter, while Gabe Hall sits behind Ojomo. Arnold Ebiketie is the second option behind Smith, and A.J. Epenesa is listed behind Hunt.
At linebacker, Zack Baun and Jihaad Campbell remain the starters. Smael Mondon follows Baun, while Jeremiah Trotter Jr. is Campbell’s primary backup.
Riq Woolen and Quinyon Mitchell lead the cornerbacks
Woolen and Mitchell are the starting outside cornerbacks. Jonathan Jones is listed behind Woolen, while Kelee Ringo follows Mitchell. Cooper DeJean is the starting nickel corner, followed by Michael Carter II or Mac McWilliams. Shaun Wade, who has forced fumbles in consecutive preseason games, is listed fourth behind Mitchell.
Cooper DeJean appears at nickel and safety
DeJean’s versatility remains one of the depth chart’s most notable details. He is listed as the starting nickel corner and also occupies the top spot at one safety position. Michael Carter II or Marcus Epps follows DeJean at safety. Andrew Mukuba leads the other safety line, ahead of Andre’ Sam, Cole Wisniewski and Maximus Pulley.
Britain Covey remains the primary punt returner, while Shipley tops the kickoff-return depth chart. Braden Mann, Jake Elliott and Rocco Underwood hold the punter, kicker and long snapper jobs.
