The PGA Tour is taking a break from its usual fall schedule this week for the 2026 Presidents Cup, pitting Team USA against the International squad at Medinah Country Club in Chicago, Illinois. The Americans are trying to keep their hot streak alive, having won the last 10 Presidents Cups and 13 of the 15 in tournament history.
Below, we look at Presidents Cup odds and make our PGA Tour picks and predictions before the first day of matches begin Thursday morning
There's no question which team has the better roster heading into this week's competition. The U.S. Team, led by captain Brandt Snedeker, has the 8 highest-ranked players in this year's event, led by World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler. Cameron Young (No. 3), Wyndham Clark (5), Chris Gotterup
(7), Xander Schauffele (10) and Collin Morikawa (11) are among the other notables on the American side.
For the International Team, Si Woo Kim, ranked No. 14 in the world, is the top player on the squad. Champion Golfer of the Year, Ryan Fox (22), Hideki Matsuyama (27) and Tom Kim (31) are also teeing it up for captain Geoff Ogilvy. The International Team can only roster players from outside of Europe, which makes it different from the Ryder Cup.
Medinah Country Club (par 70, 7,548 yards) is a long course that has hosted U.S. Opens, PGA Championships and the 2012 Ryder Cup. This is its first time hosting the Presidents Cup, and it should make for a fantastic test over the weekend. There will be 30 total matches from Thursday to Sunday, with 5 matches each on Thursday and Friday, 8 on Saturday and 12 singles matches on Sunday.

Given the talent disparity, it's hard to like anyone but the American side in this year's Presidents Cup – which is the case seemingly every time this competition takes place. Scheffler is the best player in the world, of course, but the depth of Team USA is much greater than the International squad. To put it into perspective, the International Team's best player, Si Woo Kim, would be the ninth-highest-ranked on the U.S. Team.
Jackson Koivun, who already has a PGA Tour win as a rookie, is the U.S.'s only player ranked lower than 28th, and he's still ahead of 5 International players in the Official World Golf Ranking.
The American side has bigger hitters who can take advantage of Medinah's length, notably with Young, Clark and Gotterup. And with there being so many matches (30 total), the U.S. will begin to separate as the week goes on because of how deep they can go without sacrificing talent.
The U.S. isn't worth betting at -500, despite how likely it is to win. PASS.
Presidents Cup – Winner spread
U.S. -4.5 (-118)
You can find more value here in the spread, picking the Americans to win by at least 5 points. In each of the last 2 Presidents Cups, they covered that number, winning by 7 points in 2024 and 5 in 2022. Being at home gives them an even greater advantage, too.
So long as the U.S. Team doesn't come out the way it did in last year's Ryder Cup, it won't be close come Sunday.
Presidents Cup – Top U.S. points scorer
Cameron Young (+1000)
This number is way longer than it should be. Five American players have shorter odds than Young, who tied for the most points in last year's Ryder Cup after going 3-1. He's a big hitter who will use that to his advantage at Medinah.
Sam Burns (+600)
Burns has long been a terrific match play player, going 3-0-1 in the last Presidents Cup to finish only a half-point behind 3 other players for the top points scorer.
Presidents Cup – Top International points scorer
Si Woo Kim (+500)
He's the International side's best player and brings some fire to the course. He can be the villain the International Team needs in order to make things interesting. He went 2-2 in the last Presidents Cup and finished tied for the most points on the team.
