Miyu Yamashita successfully defended her title at the Maybank Championship for her third LPGA victory of 2026. Now, with $3,203,653 in LPGA earnings this season, she becomes the second player in tour history to earn more than $3 million in official earnings in back-to-back years, joining Jeeno Thitikul.
Yamashita's closing 68 in Kuala Lumpur gave her a two-stroke victory over China's Yan Liu and a $450,000 payday.
"So today was an especially hard round for me, and I think Yan Liu was playing really well and making birdies from early in the round, but I'm glad I was able to stay focused and I was able to play with a good level of nervous energy and stay focused throughout the round," said Yamashita, who now has $6,749,541 in career LPGA earnings.

Yamashita became the fastest Japanese player to reach $6.5 million in career earnings, needing only 46 starts. The next fastest was Ayaka Furue, 103 starts.
Frenchwoman Pauline Roussin-Bouchard finished in a share of third but didn't have to share the money with amateur Marisa Tojai of Thailand, who shot 67 to finish three back. Roussin-Bouchard earned $200,016 and vaulted up the CME points list to 58th. The top-60 players at the end of The Annika driven by Gainbrdige at Pelican qualify for the season-ending CME Group Tour Championship.
