Before the first tee time Sunday at the 2026 Presidents Cup, Air Force One flew over Medinah No. 3 outside of Chicago in a preview of what was to come.
President Donald Trump was in town for the final day of the competition, and once he arrived at the course, Trump stood on the first tee and greeted all 24 golfers ahead of the Sunday singles matches. He even gave a short speech on the first tee before the matches began, but he also had some conversations with U.S. captain Brandt Snedeker.
After the U.S. had the biggest singles margin of victory in Presidents Cup history to come from behind and win, Snedeker gave all the credit to Trump for the USA's comeback.
"All these guys fought for each other, fought for this country, fought for this team,"
Snedeker said. "And one last shout out to Donald Trump, President Trump. He told me I was going to bring some energy today for you guys, you guys need it, and I told him if we did this, he gets all the credit."
Trump served as the honorary chair of the Presidents Cup, his second time doing so. It's a tradition that dates to the first playing of the biennial competition between 12 of the best players from the United States and their counterparts from around the world, not including Europe.
And after the win, Snedeker made sure to give Trump his flowers.
"Thank you, President Trump," Snedeker concluded.
