The Official World Golf Ranking has been updated for the week of September 2, 2026, with Scottie Scheffler, who captured the Tour Championship, earning the title of the planet's best player.
Viktor Hovland, who also had a great week at East Lake, moved up three spots from No. 15 to No. 12 while Ryan Gerard jumped five spots from No. 27 to No. 22.
The United States has the most players in the top 10, with seven golfers represented.
The OWGR system is calculated by awarding points from eligible tours and events to participating players over a rolling two-year period. Players are ranked weekly based on the amount of points they earn divided by the number of events they played in to reach an average total. Points hold their full value for a 13-week
