McQuillan, who made 32 starts in his PGA Tour career, has died at age 45. The Ontario, Canada, native first earned Tour membership in 2010 via Q School. He best finish was a tie for third at the 2011 John Deere Classic.
The Tour announced the news on Friday.
McQuillan was a standout Canadian golfer before reaching the sport's highest level. He first turned pro on 2003 and won in 2005 at the Edmonton Open.
In recent years, he was a teaching pro in his hometown of Kingston, Ontario.
The Tour's report did not give a cause of death.
