Blades Brown made PGA Tour history on Sunday.
The 19-year-old from Tennessee became the youngest player to earn a PGA Tour card via the Korn Ferry Tour. He officially clinched it following a rainy final round of the KFT Championship at The Federal Club in Glen Alley, Virginia. Brown earned membership at just 19 years, 4 months and 20 days old, only two years after deciding to turn professional and forego a college and amateur career.
He finished solo second in the KFT Finals. That moved him to ninth in the season-long points race, one of 20 players to officially earn their PGA Tour card on Sunday.
This year, Brown has made 11 starts on the PGA Tour and 17 on the KFT. He finished
third at the Puerto Rico Open on the PGA Tour and had three top-five finishes on the KFT. He has made 24 of 28 cuts between the two tours.
In January, he made the cut on both circuits over the span of eight days. He finished the Korn Ferry Tour's Bahamas Great Abaco Classic tied for 17th on a Wednesday then caught a flight to the Palm Springs area for the American Express, where shot a second-round 60 before ending up in a tie for 18th, capping off eight competitive rounds in eight days.
In June, Brown earned Special Temporary Membership on the PGA Tour, which meant he could receive unlimited sponsor exemptions for the rest of the season, after a T-14 at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson.
He faced a balance of whether to play KFT or PGA Tour events as the season went on, but he continued to show consistency throughout the season every time he was playing for his card on the KFT, and now he's heading to the PGA Tour.
