Annika Sorenstam has designed a frigid-looking hole for the new WTGL league in sunny Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Drawing on her Swedish roots, the LPGA and World Golf Hall of Famer created a striking watery par-3 called SOS that features icebergs and a warship in the middle of it.
“Designing for WTGL and TGL gave us an opportunity to be creative with the setting while thinking about how the best players in the world would approach each shot,” Sorenstam said in a release. “With SOS, we wanted to bring a piece of Sweden into the experience and create a hole that is fun to watch and challenging to play.”

The SOS ship pays homage to a Swedish warship that sunk in Stockholm harbor during its maiden voyage in 1628. With 12 tee boxes positioned on docks
ranging from 119 to 233 yards, players must navigate imposing sails to reach an island green that's surrounded by snow.
The SOS name references the difficulty of the "Shot Over Sail" as well as the hit song from ABBA and the international distress signal.
An additional par 4 designed by Sorenstam that can stretch as long as 511 yards will be unveiled during the upcoming TGL and WTGL seasons.
The first WTGL match will kick off on Nov. 8 at 3 p.m. on ESPN, featuring the Los Angeles Golf Club, led by Michelle Wie West, against Lydia Ko's New York Golf Club.
Here's the complete roster of teams for the inaugural season, which runs through Dec. 23.
