Well, well, well. We have a game. The Internationals have now swept Friday foursomes two times in a row, doing so this year to repeat the feat they turned in 2024.
This is the first time since 2019 that the International squad leads heading into the weekend. It's just the fourth time in 16 Presidents Cups that the U.S. trailed going into Saturday.

The Internationals won all five matches in the Day 2 session:

It’s déjà vu all over again. For the second straight Presidents Cup, the International
Team swept all five foursomes matches on Day 2 of the biennial competition. That’s a combined 10 wins and no losses. It marked the seventh sweep in a Presidents Cup and the first time a team swept a session in consecutive Cups. This time, the 5-0 whitewash at Medinah No. 3 gave the International Team a 7-3 lead heading into the weekend, tying the largest lead for the Internationals since 1998 as they seek to win for the first time since that year and end a 10-match losing streak and. “It was an incredible day,” International Team Captain Geoff Ogilvy said.

Although complaints about the television coverage of the Presidents Cup were plentiful through the first few days of action at Medinah No. 3, that hasn't stopped fans from tuning in. Here's a look at the jump, which has been significant.
Gotterup, Young cruising early
What a start for Chris Gotterup and Cameron Young, who sprinted out to a 4-up edge through four holes of play. As of 10 a.m., the Americans are ahead in all four matches, and the emotion is certainly there for the home side. Considering how well Nick Taylor had been playing, this was a fantastic start for the Americans.

Koivun, JT off to early edge
Saturday brought a hot start for Jackson Koivun and Justin Thomas, who got out to an early lead on Min Woo Lee and Sungjae Im. If the Americans are going to right the ship on Saturday, they need to capitalize on this energetic start.

Speaking of JT ... oof
JT tugged his opening drive left and barely in bounds. But a boundary fence prevented him from taking a swing right-handed for his second shot. Thomas turned around and tried to play it lefty, but it didn't go well. He took a swipe at it but managed to advance the ball only a few feet. Been there, done that, JT.
Thomas played his third lefty as well to better effect, but it didn't matter in the grand scheme of things because the 21-year-old Jackson Koivun came to his rescue and knocked his second shot within 10 feet of the hole and poured in the putt to take a 1-up lead and put some red on the board quickly. Where is the 2026 Presidents Cup?
Medinah Country Club, located 25 miles west of downtown Chicago, is the host of the 2026 Presidents Cup. There are three 18-hole championship courses on the property, but the one they'll be playing this week is Medinah No. 3, which has previously hosted many major golf events, including three U.S. Opens, two PGA Championships and the 2012 Ryder Cup. But the course will look much different than it did the last time we saw it on the big stage. In 2022, Medinah No. 3 underwent a full renovation orchestrated by International Captain Geoff Ogilvy and his team at OCM Design.
Presidents Cup past winners
The U.S. has historically dominated the Presidents Cup, amassing a 13-1-1 record since the event's inception in 1994. In the most recent edition, the Americans won the 2024 Presidents Cup at Royal Montreal Golf Club in Canada by a score of 18½ to 11½. The International Team's only victory came in 1998. The 2003 Presidents Cup ended in a tie.
