Charley Hull's blonde locks have long been part of her signature look. When she showed up to the FM Championship in late August with brown hair, even her own putting coach, Nick Soto, didn't recognize her and walked right past.
At this week's Walmart NW Arkansas Championship
, where 30-year-old Hull opened with a 6-under 65, the popular LPGA star was asked what inspired her to make the dramatic change."I don't know. I just felt like I wanted to do it," she said. "My boyfriend didn't want me to do it, so it made me want to do it more. So I done it and then I kind of regretted it. Now I'm kind of liking it. I will go back to blonde, hopefully just after Christmas."
Hull recently helped Europe to a 15-13 victory at the Solheim Cup in the Netherlands,
playing all five matches. On Friday in Arkansas, Hull revealed that she battled tonsillitis during the Solheim Cup and was bed-bound when she returned home to England.
At the 54-hole event in Rogers, Hull will contend for her fourth career LPGA title.
