One of the most beloved events of golf's "silly season" has announced new details. The 2026 Grant Thornton Invitational returns to Tiburon Golf Club in Naples, Florida, Dec. 11-13, and the teams were made official Tuesday.
Each pair features one active LPGA player and one active PGA Tour player who will compete together in a fun, three-day competition featuring three separate formats. Day 1 is a scramble, Day 2 is alternate shot, and Day 3 is "modified four-ball," where each player tees off, then switches balls and plays their partner's ball until they finish the hole.
Lauren Coughlin and Andrew Novak are back to defend their title. A year ago, the American duo shot 28 under to win the tournament by three shots. Some other familiar pairings have
joined forces again, like Lydia Ko and Jason Day, who won the inaugural Grant Thornton Invitational in 2023, as well as Patty Tavatanakit and Jake Knapp, the 2024 champions.

But there are also quite a few new duos set to tee it up at Tiburon together. World No. 1 Nelly Korda will play alongside Michael Brennan, who was paired with Charley Hull last year. Hull is unable to play this time around because she'll be attending fellow LPGA star Georgia Hall's wedding, she told Golfweek in a recent Q&A.
Another new pairing that is sure to raise some eyebrows is the duo of American young guns Kiara Romero and Jackson Koivun, both of whom are former world No. 1 amateurs who recently turned pro.
