WOLCOTT, CO — The Southern California women's golf team likes playing in the Rocky Mountains.

A year after setting the single-round and tournament scoring records at the Golfweek Red Sky Classic, the Trojans once again had a record-setting performance Monday in the opening round at Red Sky Golf Club's Fazio Course. USC set the single-round scoring record, shooting 22-under 266, one shot better than it carded in the final round last year of its victory. USC has an 11-shot lead over Miami heading to Tuesday's second round.

Junior Jasmine Koo, who finished as co-medalist a year ago, signed for 7-under 65 on Monday. Freshman Kaili Xiao, making her collegiate debut, also signed for 65 after a back-nine 30. Kylie Chong, who shared co-medalist honors

with Koo in 2025, got in at 6-under 66.

Xiao's 65 is believed to be the best debut round by a freshman in school history. It's also the lowest round in school history, besting last year's mark.

Sophomore Sarah Hammett also had a bogey-free 70 as the final counting score.
