Auburn sophomore Logan Reilly and Oklahoma State senior Preston Stout had a round for the record books Monday at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta.
The duo, two of the best amateurs in the world, fired rounds of 7-under 65 to share medalist honors after the lone stroke-play round at the 2026 East Lake Cup. The matching 65s set a tournament scoring record, which Scottie Scheffler held for a decade following his 66 in the 2016 edition of the East Lake Cup.
Reilly led for a majority of the day, but a poor drive on 18 forced him to scramble for par to share medalist honors with Stout, the world No. 1 amateur who birdied his last three holes to join Reilly on top of the leaderboard.
“It was nice to feel some nerves,” Stout said. “It's always fun being under pressure. That's why we practice. I love getting in those moments and having putts like that.”
Auburn earned the top seed for match play and will face Arizona while No. 2 Oklahoma State will battle UCLA come Tuesday.
On the women's side, Arkansas senior Maria Jose Marin claimed medalist honors after signing for 5-under 67, besting USC junior Jasmine Koo by two shots. It's the seventh win of Marin's career.
“I asked my coach where we were standing because I had no idea what was happening,” Marin said coming down the stretch. “I knew (Koo) was kind of close to me, and she said, ‘Well, if you make this putt, you might win.’ My mind gets to a point where the only thing that matters is the hole. That was what was going through my head on that last putt.”
USC earned the No. 1 seed for match play on the women's side and will battle Oklahoma State while Arkansas will take on Eastern Michigan.
Tuesday will feature semifinal matches for both men's and women's competition before Wednesday brings the championship final and consolation match.
