The LPGA's "Hawaii Swing" just got more familiar. The Lotte Championship will move to Maui's Kapalua Resort in 2027, the tour has announced. The event will be held March 18-21, one week after the new Nanea Cup on the Big Island. The purse will remain the same at $3 million.
World No. 2 Jeeno Thitikul won the 14th edition of the Lotte Sunday at Hoakalei Country Club on Oahu. Next year, the Plantation Course will host the best women in the world, after the PGA Tour moved its longstanding Tournament of Champions event, The Sentry, to Torrey Pines in 2027.

Twenty years ago, the LPGA opened its season with a two-tournament Hawaii swing that included two stops on Oahu. This time the events will follow the spring Asia swing.
The PGA Tour's Sentry was
played on Kapalua's Plantation Course from 1999 to 2025. The Kapalua LPGA Classic, won by Morgan Pressel, was played only one year on The Bay Course in 2008 for a purse of $1.5 million.
“We are thrilled to have Kapalua Resort and The Plantation Course serve as the venue for the Lotte Championship in 2027," said LPGA commissioner Craig Kessler in a release. "As we continue to strengthen the LPGA Tour schedule, venues with deep-rooted heritage like Kapalua are exactly what we look for. This new chapter would not be possible without the support and commitment to the Tour that Lotte and Kapalua provided. We want to thank Hoakalei Country Club for the last five years and look forward to building on the success of the Lotte Championship at its new home in Maui.”
In 2023, devastating wildfires hit Maui and ongoing water restrictions led to brown fairways. Three months before the 2026 Sentry, the tournament was canceled. Now, the grass is green again, and the recovery continues.

"I’m really excited to see the Lotte Championship move to Kapalua Resort and The Plantation Course in 2027," said U.S. Women's Open champion Allisen Corpuz, a Hawaii native, in a release.
"Growing up in Hawaii, attending the Lotte Championship was always a highlight for me, and I think Kapalua is an incredible venue to showcase the beauty of Hawaii and everything that makes the islands so special. I’m really looking forward to competing there and being able to share that experience with fans at home.”
