Kai Trump is set to make her collegiate debut Sunday.
The freshman at Miami will play as an individual in the Golfweek Fall Challenge at Caledonia Golf & Fish Club in Pawley's Island, South Carolina. The 54-hole event kicks off Sunday and concludes Tuesday.
Trump, the granddaughter of President Donald Trump, was a part of the Hurricanes' 2026 signing class. She committed to Miami in August of 2024 and is now making her debut wearing the orange, green and white. Trump, 19, and teammate Carlee Rogers will both compete as individuals.
The Hurricanes won their first team event earlier this week at the Boilermaker Classic, with Scarlett Schremmer taking home the individual title. Trump was not in the lineup for that event.
Last fall, Trump made her debut
on the LPGA at The Annika driven by Gainbridge at Pelican, where she shot 83-75. One sports book had her over/under for Round 1 at 92.5, based on a junior golf record that is lighter than most. On Friday, Trump poured in four birdies – including a near ace with a tight draw on the par-3 12th.
The oldest daughter of Donald Trump Jr. and his former wife, Vanessa, has built a brand as a golf influencer with massive following on social media. She has her own clothing line and multiple NIL partnerships.
Earlier this year, Trump underwent surgery "to address injuries to the stabilizing tissues of my ECU tendon and damage to my fibrocartilage complex" on her left wrist.
Now healthy, she'll begin her college golf career at the Golfweek Fall Challenge.
