WOLCOTT, CO — Scarlett Schremmer is having fun. Sometimes good golf is as simple as that.
Schremmer, a sophomore at Miami, had to sit out the spring season after transferring from Texas A&M last fall. She played in only two events as a freshman and went months without significant competitive golf before returning this summer.
Since then, Schremmer has shown the talent that made her the No. 2 player in the 2025 recruiting class.
Schremmer won the 2026 Golfweek Red Sky Classic on Wednesday at Red Sky Golf Club's Fazio Course. And she did so in record fashion. Schremmer, who signed for 6-under 66 in the final round, finished at 17-under 199 for the week, setting the scoring record at the Red Sky Classic by four shots. It's also the second-lowest score
in Miami history and her second victory of the season.
"The course fit my eye well," Schremmer said. "I hit a lot of good shots this week, so it just all came together."
Perhaps her best moment of the day came on the 10th hole, when she buried a 72-foot putt for birdie, her fifth of seven in the final round. She also hit 5-wood on the 18th hole more than 300 yards on the downhill par-5 closer at Red Sky, pouring in the 5 footer for birdie to finish the record-setting performance.
For the week, Schremmer had 19 birdies with only two bogeys. Already a long hitter, she used her advantage at the highest-elevation tournament in college golf to dominate tee-to-green, and her putter was stellar all three days, too.
No one played the par 5s at Red Sky better than Schremmer this week, playing those holes in 9 under. She was also 6 under on the par 4s, behind only two players in the field of 108.
Pepperdine's Eunseo Choi placed second, finishing three shots behind Schremmer. LSU's Ryleigh Knaub and USC's Jasmine Koo, a co-medalist in 2025, tied for fourth at 13 under. USC won the team title for the second straight year.
The round of the day belonged to Pepperdine's Grace Anderson, who signed for 8-under 64, the second-best score in Red Sky Classic history. She finished T-5.
Dating to this summer, it's Schremmer's fourth victory in as many months. And with every win, the smiles are piling up.
"I did not know I could have this much fun on the golf course as I've had with my teammates the last couple of months," Schremmer said. "That's given me a lot of confidence. It was hard not playing this spring, but I've had such a good support group that kept encouraging me and kept pushing me. Especially not playing this past spring, I really put my head down and I worked so hard, so it has been really great to see that pay off."
It was a fitting reflection after another dominant week, one that ended with a tournament-record 17-under total and another trophy.
