An Iron Bowl battle broke out in Fort Worth, Texas, and the Crimson Tide emerged with ultimate bragging rights. At least on the golf course.
Alabama came from behind on Tuesday to beat Auburn and many of college golf's top teams to win the Ben Hogan Collegiate, arguably the best non-postseason tournament of the season, at Colonial Country Club. The Crimson Tide shot 4 over on Tuesday, tied for the best final round in the field, finishing at even par to win by five shots over Auburn and 12 over Texas Tech and North Carolina.
The Ben Hogan Collegiate field featured six teams in the Golfweek preseason top-10 rankings, including Nos. 2-5. Alabama, ranked 16th, picked up its first win of the season.
Nick Gross and William Jennings tied for third place,
while Bailey Sutter tied for ninth. Miles Eubanks came in a tie for 16th.

Texas Tech senior Adam Bresnu, a nine-time winner at Odessa College, earned his first D-I victory, finishing at 7 under to beat Georgia sophomore JD Culbreth by a shot. World No. 1 amateur Preston Stout, a senior at Oklahoma State, also finished T-3 at 5 under.
With the win, Bresnu, from Morocco, earned an exemption into the PGA Tour's 2027 Charles Schwab Challenge, played at Colonial.
"It feels amazing, an unbelievable feeling right now," Bresnu said. "I had two putts to win, and I couldn't feel my hands on the first putt, and I had a tap-in on the second, and I'm glad I made it. Coach (Greg) Sands was with me the whole tournament. He helped me a lot, golf-wise and mentally. I'm really glad he was there with me today."
