Tony Finau is finally playing his home game next week.
Finau, a native of Salt Lake City, is committed to play in the Bank of Utah Championship for the first time as he battles to finish in the top 100 on the PGA Tour and retain full membership for the 2027 PGA Tour season. Finau, 37, is a six-time Tour winner and serves as an ambassador of the Korn Ferry Tour event in Utah but he’s been unable to play in South Utah the past two years. Finau went to West High School and won the Utah State Amateur Championship in 2006.
With the bulk of its 120-player field revealed Friday, the Bank of Utah Championship features a mix of Tour winners, past major championship winners and fan-favorite headliners. That includes defending champion Michael Brennan and 2024
Bank of Utah Championship winner Matt McCarty, 2009 U.S. Open champion Lucas Glover, and multiple-time winners Billy Horschel (eight wins), Max Homa (six),Chris Kirk (six), and Nick Taylor (five wins), who is also a member of the International team at the Presidents Cup this week. Rising stars Blades Brown, Luke Clanton, David Ford and Jackson Koivun (a member of the United States team at the Presidents Cup this week).
The Bank of Utah Championship field includes 49 PGA Tour winners who have combined to win 98 career events. While four players will earn entry through an open qualifier Monday, the rest of the field has been finalized.

In addition to Finau, the field includes six other players with Utah ties, including Kihei Akina, a sophomore on the men’s golf team at BYU who is playing on a sponsor's exemption; Zac Blair, who finished T-20 last year; Boston Bracken, a St. George native playing on a sponsor's exemption; Patrick Fishburn, a BYU alum and Ogden resident; Zach J. Johnson, the Utah PGA Section qualifier and PGA head Golf Professional at Davis Park Golf Course in Kaysville, Utah; and Bowen Mauss, a native of Draper who earned an exemption as the 2026 Utah State Amateur Championship winner.
