Michelle Xing has a debut so stellar, it's putting her into the UCLA women's golf record books.
The freshman had an incredible finish in her first collegiate golf tournament at the Annika Intercollegiate at Royal Golf Club in Lake Elmo, Minnesota. Xing shot 7-under 65, tying the UCLA low 18-hole score by a freshman, to claim medalist honors by a shot over Wake Forest junior Chloe Kovelesky. Xing started the day five shots behind Kovelesky but carded eight birdies on a windy day to take home the trophy.
Only 10 players finished under par at Royal Golf Club, where Xing's 65 was also the low round of the week.

The Demon Deacons took home the team title, winning the Annika Intercollegiate for the fourth time and second year in a row. Wake Forest was the only team to shoot under par in every round, finishing at 24 under and 10 shots in front of USC.
Havanna Torstensson placed third while Macy Pate tied for fifth. USC shot 15 under on Wednesday, with Sarah Hammett's 67 pacing the way, to give the Trojans the low round of the week. Oregon, Auburn and South Carolina rounded out the top five.
