Bryson DeChambeau is one of more than a dozen LIV players who have been released from their contracts, court documents revealed Wednesday.
As part of LIV Golf's ongoing bankruptcy filing, numerous players now have freedom when it comes to deciding where they'll play golf in 2027. DeChambeau, Dustin Johnson, Talor Gooch, Anthony Kim and others have had their contracts rejected, which means they can freely leave LIV Golf or possibly negotiate new deals for LIV 2.0.
Others who had contracts rejected include Laurie Canter, Thomas Detry, Lucas Herbert, Michael La Sasso, Danny Lee, David Puig, Bubba Watson, Dean Burmaster, Luis Masavau, Anirban Lahiri, Lee Westwood, Victor Perez, Thomas Pieters and Peter Uihlein. Puig is one of numerous players, including
Jon Rahm, Sergio Garcia and Adrian Meronk, who have announced they won't return to the league in 2027.

Players have until Oct. 25 to commit to LIV 2.0, according to terms set out by BC Partners, which has offered a $300 million investment in the league if certain parameters are met.
DeChambeau has not spoken publicly about his intentions for 2027. After the season finale, he made a cryptic social media post, saying, 'It was a good run.' With Rahm's departure, DeChambeau, whose contract was ending this year, is the league's biggest star and one of the biggest in the sport. It's not overstating how critical it is for LIV to try to retain the two-time U.S. Open champion if it wants to succeed in the future, but DeChambeau also holdsmostof the power when determining where he wants to play in the future.
Also on Wednesday, Rahm and LIV reached an agreement as part of his separation from the league. All of Rahm's contracts with the league are terminated. As part of the agreement, he gives up all claims against LIV's bankruptcy estate, of which Rahm was the largest creditor. LIV also gives up nearly all rights to use Rahm's name, image, likeness, trademarks and branding going forward, while Rahm gets control of Legion XIII's intellectual property and trademarks.
One of the places Rahm can't use the Legion XIII brand? The TGL, the indoor-simulator golf league which Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy own. Is that a hint of Rahm's future? Only time will tell.
