After a tumultuous year, LIV Golf has reached the final event of its 2026 season ― a week earlier that originally planned. LIV Golf Indianapolis begins Thursday at at The Club at Chatham Hills.
On Monday, after months of speculation, LIV announced the Michigan team championship event set Aug. 27-30 was officially a no-go, making Indy the season finale.
Furthermore, there is an inkling among some that this could be the final LIV event, well, ever. Amid a litany of financial problems, rumors have been swirling that the league could fold in short order, but so far, that's just a rumor. LIV Golf CEO Scott O'Neil to hold Wednesday news conference
O'Neil is scheduled for a 1 p.m. ET appearance in the media center. The LIV Golf media site lists no other pre-tournament availabilities with any players, a deviation from the norm, although it says players will be available to speak with media once competition begins on Thursday.
Media company files lawsuit against LIV Golf
According to Front Office Sports, a company called Fresh Tape Media is suing LIV Golf for $1.23 million worth of unpaid invoices for the production of the league's preseason media event in January.

Fresh Tape is now seeking to freeze some of the golf league's assets as part of its lawsuit.
Unnamed new investor spoke to LIV players on Tuesday
LIV Golf's new unnamed "lead investor" had a meeting with players at The Club at Chatham Hills on Wednesday, according to a report from The Athletic. That investor is believed to be Ted Goldthorpe of BC Partners, a private equity firm based in London. LIV CEO Scott O'Neil announced publicly two weeks ago that the league had "reached an agreement" with a new investor, but declined to specify who it was, how much the deal was worth and when the supposed deal would be finalized.
LIV Golf cancels team championship in Michigan
After months of speculation that LIV Golf's 2026 team championship event in Michigan would be taken off the schedule, that speculation turned into reality. After the league quietly stopped selling tickets to the tournament last week, it (finally) announced its official cancellation on Monday.
LIV Golf today confirmed that the League's 2026 season finale will celebrate an Indianapolis Champion, the 2026 Season Individual Champion and top three finishers and the 2026 Team Champion at the LIV Golf Indianapolis 2026 Championships.
