The Block Party has come to an end. For now, at least.
Michael Block, who parlayed a string of sponsor invitations into a successful PGA Tour Champions season, will fall just short of reaching the Charles Schwab Cup Championship. The bigger impact for Block is that Only 36 golfers made the finale, but all 36 also are guaranteed tour cards on the senior circuit for the following season.
Block closed Sunday's Simmons Bank Championship with a 2-under 70 and a tie for 11th, but it only bumped him one spot in the standings from 43rd to 42nd.

After Friday's round, Block was asked about the pressure of closing.
"It was a ton of pressure obviously. We all know, every single pro out here no matter what they are acting like, they know exactly where they're
at in the points, they know exactly who's ahead of them or behind them and how many points it is," he said.
In 2023, the longtime club professional from Arroyo Trabuco Golf Club in Mission Viejo, California, became one of golf's biggest surprises. At the PGA Championship at Oak Hill, he not only made the cut but found himself contending on the weekend. Then, playing alongside Rory McIlroy in the final round, Block made a hole-in-one that instantly became one of the tournament's defining moments.
“Without the 2023 thing happening, unlikely that I get any sponsor exemptions,” Block told Golfweek's Adam Schupak.
