Jon Rahm admitted last week that he's still not sure where he'll be playing golf in 2027.
The Spaniard has spent the past three seasons with LIV Golf, claiming the league's individual title each year since making his high-profile move. But with LIV Golf's future in doubt following its recent bankruptcy filing, Rahm remains reluctant to offer any clues about what comes next.
The uncertainty surrounding his future comes as Rahm continues to search for answers on the course. At the BMW PGA Championship on Thursday, he opened with a 6-over 78 at Wentworth, one of the worst rounds of his professional career and his highest score in a non-major event since 2021. The score left him near the bottom of the leaderboard and in danger of missing the cut at one of the DP
World Tour's marquee events.
At 6 over, he was ahead of just one player in the field at the day's end, Germany's Marcel Siem, the 495th-ranked player in the world.
Reigning PGA Champion Aaron Rai and Swede Joakim Lagergren lead the way after one round of play, as each shot a round of 66 on Thursday.
Rahm is expected to play several DP World Tour events to close out 2026, though he may skip the Spanish Open as he awaits the birth of his fourth child. While questions about LIV have become increasingly common, the two-time major champion has offered little insight into his plans.
Speaking with BBC Sport, however, Rahm acknowledged that a number of possibilities remain on the table.
"There's just a lot of things in place. There's a lot of things that could happen," Rahm said. "It's one of those things with time. Time's going to tell."
For now, both Rahm's next move and LIV Golf's future remain unresolved, leaving one of the game's biggest stars facing more questions than answers heading into 2027.
