Kai Trump is set to make her second collegiate start Monday at the Golfweek Put Me In Coach Invitational.
Trump, who made her debut for Miami last month in the 2026 Golfweek Fall Classic at Caledonia Golf & Fish Club in Pawleys Island, South Carolina, is one of 15 individuals in the women's field at Delaware Country Club in Muncie, Indiana. Trump will play as an individual along with Hurricane teammates Carlee Rogers and Anna Behnsen.
Trump, the granddaugther of President Donald Trump, tied for 102nd in the 120-player field at the Golfweek Fall Classic, revealing after the tournament she re-injured her wrist when a shot near a cart path struck unexpectedly hard ground beneath the grass.
"My first college tournament, I hit the ground next to the cart
path. Let's just say there must have been some cart path underneath that ground because it was very hard," Trump said in a social media post.
Earlier this year, Trump underwent left wrist surgery to address damage to the stabilizing tissues of her ECU tendon and fibrocartilage complex.
Testing revealed the damage she suffered after her first tournament was not as significant as initially feared.
"I didn't fully tear it and just have a little sliver on my TFCC, which is good because that means I can do these stem cells and I can get better," Trump said. "I was talking surgery, and I can get better faster, so that's always a blessing."
Trump was undergoing stem cell treatments in hopes of accelerating the recovery process and avoiding another operation. And now, she's set to tee it up in her second college event.
The Golfweek Put Me In Coach Invitational is an event for individuals only, with the goal of players getting reps and playing well enough to impress their coaches and play their way into the lineups of their school's next team event. Miami won its season-opening tournament and recently finished runner-up at the Golfweek Red Sky Classic, with sophomore Scarlett Schremmer winning her second tournament in as many starts.
And now, Trump is set to make the second start of her college career at Delaware Country Club, a par-70 layout measuring 6,030 yards. Live scoring will be available on Golfstat.
