Michael Block's remarkable run on the PGA Tour Champions has rolled into Pennsylvania, and the Block Party doesn't appear to be ending any time soon.
The longtime Arroyo Trabuco Golf Club professional heads into the final round of this week's Jefferson Lehigh Valley Classic at 11 under par and holding the lead, the latest highlight in what has quickly become one of the most compelling storylines on the PGA Tour Champions. Since turning 50 on June 15, Block has piled up $326,486 in official earnings in just six starts while proving that his breakthrough moment at the 2023 PGA Championship was anything but a one-off.
And since this marks his seventh start on the senior circuit, he'll be eligible for the postseason if he finishes his round on Sunday.
If the season were to end then, Block would easily qualify for the lucrative Charles Schwab Cup playoffs.
“It's spiraling upwards, which is good," Block said when asked about his career path. "Having a great time. My biggest prerogative right now is to enjoy it. And to be honest, no one says this while they're playing, but I say, ‘Commit, have fun, enjoy the moment.’ I say it out loud because I really need to. These guys have done this their whole life, so it's like their office. This is not my office. My office is doing payroll and inventory. This is not my office. So I'm trying to learn the way, but I need to say it out loud.
"To be out here and leading again in one of these events is amazing. I just hope I've learned from what happened before. Going into tomorrow, I have no idea who I'm playing with, but I hope it's a couple of my boys and we'll have a good time. That's it.”

Block finished top 10 in his Champions debut at the Dick's Open, contended at the Rogers Charity Classic and held the 36-hole lead at the Ally Challenge before ultimately finishing T-3. Those performances pushed him firmly into the Schwab Cup playoff conversation and showed he belongs among the tour's top players.
A club professional making noise on PGA Tour Champions will always attract attention. Block, however, is in a different category. Fans still remember his unforgettable week at the 2023 PGA Championship, where he tied for 15th, the best finish by a club pro in decades, and punctuated the run with a slam-dunk ace while playing alongside Rory McIlroy in the final round.
Michael Block's 2026 Champions season results
More than three years later, Block is proving that magical week was merely the opening act. At age 50, he's become one of the biggest attractions on PGA Tour Champions, and with 18 holes remaining at the Jefferson Lehigh Valley Classic, he's in position to capture the first victory of his senior-tour career.
And his 63 on Saturday was his lowest round of the Champions season, putting him a stroke ahead of Steven Alker atop the board. But Block insisted he's not paying attention to the others; he's having too much fun.
“You know what, I don’t look at the leaderboard, I don’t look at my scorecard, I just play golf and that’s it, to be honest," he said. "It’s really cool to have people out there because they take my mind off what I’m doing. It helps me a lot because I’m not focusing on where I’m at in the tournament or what I’m shooting that day.
"To be honest, I snuck a peek on 18 and saw I was 7 under for the day. I was like, ‘Oh, crap, I’m 7 under for the day? That’s pretty cool.’ And that was the first time I saw it. I know, it’s crazy. You’d think I’d know where I’m at, but I don’t.”
