Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 Rocket Classic. No reason was given for the WD.
Koepka, who tied for 28th at the Open Championship, is 84th in the FexEx Cup standings, so if he wants to make the postseason, he'll need a strong finish at next week's Wyndham Championship.
This season, his best finish was a T-9 at his hometown Cognizant Classic in the Palm Beaches. He also placed T-12 at the Masters.
His WD isn't such bad news for three other players, however. Because Koepka was listed in the field Monday, Lanto Griffin and Justin Lower were given spots to round out groupings, AKA the Koepka rule. In every PGA Tour event he has played this year, two players were added to the field on Monday, so he wasn't taking away starts from anyone. And
then with his WD, Ben Silverman gets his spot at Detroit Golf Club in Michigan.
Perhaps waiting until Tuesday to withdraw was planned, but it's an unfortunate situation for Koepka, who has only one more chance to make the postseason.
