As world No. 2 Jeeno Thitikul closes in on her fourth LPGA title of the season in Hawaii, the No. 1 player in the world is close to home cheering on her favorite team.
Nelly Korda grew up not too far from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers stadium and was there on Sunday afternoon cheering on her fiancé's favorite – and now her favorite – Green Bay Packers.
Korda is in the midst of a two-month break from the LPGA. After competing for the U.S. team at the Solheim Cup, Korda opted to skip the next two domestic stops and will also miss the upcoming five-tournament fall Asia swing.
Last December, Korda made the trip up to Lambeau Field, where she was presented with her own custom Cheesehead hat.
Meanwhile, Thitikul paces the field at the Lotte Championship on Oahu
by three strokes. While the LPGA took three weeks off around the Solheim Cup, Thitikul took in some U.S. Open tennis in New York and toured Austria with her coach and his wife and some friends.
She'll head back to Thailand next week during the week off to recharge before the Asia swing.
"I do like [last] quarter, back of the year, a lot," said Thitikul. "I mean, like because we kind of relax. We not have much tournament left. I feel like all Asia doesn't have any cuts, so a lot of food that we definitely going to looking forward to for sure."
Thitikul also ended the past two seasons with the CME Group Tour Championship title, giving her a total of $8 million in only two events.
