Angel Yin will make the trip to Amsterdam for the 20th playing of the Solheim Cup. The 27-year-old American, who qualified No. 2 on the points list, told Golfweek that she will be part of Angela Stanford's 12-player team Sept. 11-13 in The Netherlands.
Last week's FM Championship marked Yin's first start since she withdrew from the third round of the KPMG Women's PGA back in late June with stomach issues. Yin, who lost 35 pounds in two months, didn't make a birdie in rounds of 81-76 at TPC Boston but left optimistic.
"I didn’t make anything over a bogey," said Yin, "and my improvement from 81 to 76 doesn't seem like a lot in professional golf, but it was immense for me."

One of the best putters on Team USA, Yin owns a 5-3-1 overall record in the biennial
competition. A captain’s pick in 2017 and 2023, Yin will make her fourth Solheim appearance at Bernardus Golf. She made the 2019 team based on Rolex Rankings points.
Yin noted that Stanford wanted her to focus on chipping and putting in Boston, which Yin said by Friday shocked her it was so good. Being a touch weaker, she reasoned, might have given her a bit more finesse.
"I don’t think I missed anything inside of 10 feet," she said of her second-round putting. "I was pretty proud of that."
As for stamina, Yin said she felt good considering she hadn't walked 18 holes before last week. She stayed on in Boston over the weekend to take advantage of the cooler weather and quality course conditions. By the time she left on Monday, her driver distance had returned. The only clubs that are still about 10 yards shorter are the 5-iron and 4-iron.
Rather than fly back to steamy Florida, Yin headed to her native California for the week so that she could practice in better conditions. She'll fly to Atlanta on Saturday to meet up with the rest of the team before heading to Amsterdam later that night.
Angel Yin checked herself into the ER on June 25 with excruciating stomach pain. That she's playing in Boston this week is a miracle, Yin said.

Yin's health struggles began on June 25 after the first round at Hazeltine National, when she went to the emergency room in Minnesota reeling from stomach pain and nausea. She left with medicine at 3 a.m., telling the doctor that it was a major and she needed to play.
"The doctor goes, 'OK, I totally understand, but you probably will be back,' " recalled Yin.
Saturday morning she tried to give it a go but wound up back at the ER and was later admitted to the hospital. She stayed there for six days before heading back home to Florida. Yin's gastrointestinal issues severely limited her food intake. Her diet now consists of water, rice, boiled chicken, fruits and cooked vegetables.
Yin didn't want to go into the specifics of the diagnosis but reports that she's now pain-free.
Solheim Cup rules stipulate that Stanford must put two alternate names in the envelope.
