The Presidents Cup has commandeered the attention of the golf world this week but the LPGA is in action as well, fresh off the heels of the Solheim Cup.
And Lauren Coughlin came to play. In Saturday's second round of the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship, one of the few 54-hole events on the LPGA, Coughlin opened with nine birdies on her front nine. That's right: nine holes, nine circles.
Coughlin, playing the second nine first on Saturday, made the turn in 26. And that's good for an LPGA record to start a round. All this after a first-round 2-over 73.
She did par the first two holes on her second nine (Nos. 1 and 2) but she's at 8 under overall and currently tied for 19th.
Yuni Nishimura leads by five at 16 under after a pair of 63s. Lottie Woad
is in a tie for second at 11 under. Charley Hull is tied for 11th as action continues at Pinnacle Country Club in Rogers, Arkansas.
