Nelly Korda joined the Jonas Brothers new-ish podcast, "Hey Jonas!" while the band recently toured in Tampa, Florida. The LPGA No. 1 said growing up, she and her siblings were big Jonas Brothers fans. And now the famous brothers ― Kevin, Joe and Nick ― count golf as their favorite hobby.
They four talked sibling rivalries, travel tips (always bring a big pillow) and ways they decompress after a big performance. They even put together Lego sets ― one of Korda's favorite hobbies ― as they answered rapid fire questions.
All three Jonas brothers are girl dads and Kevin's oldest, Alena, is already golf-obsessed.
“My daughter is 12, going to be 13 this year, and she's just fully in," said Kevin. "She got her first set of PXGs for Christmas last year.
It was a big it was a big deal, you know, and seeing her like ask me, 'Can I please have my lessons three times a week this year instead of just two?' I was like, 'Whatever you want.'”
Alena popped up in a video to ask Korda what she should focus on the most. Korda's answer: short game.
“There's a drill that I loved doing when I was younger. It's called the six-ball drill," said Korda. "It's hard. So you pick like an easy, medium and hard. And you have to make six up-and-downs in a row. And if you don't, then you can't move on to the next one or you can't leave. I've been there for like two hours, three hours from one spot because I did not make up six up and downs in a row. So like a bunker shot, you have to actually make the putt too. On that sixth putt, you're feeling pressure.”
The "Hey Jonas!" podcast debuted in May. Previous guests include actors Paul Rudd and William Shatner, as well as musicians Michael Buble and Niall Horan and comedian Seth Meyers.
Korda is in the midst a two-month break from LPGA competition. She'll return to action next month at The Annika driven by Gainbridge at Pelican near Tampa, where she's a three-time winner.
