The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are setting records for all of the wrong reasons this season.
The Buccaneers are currently 0-3 and have had a rough start to the 2026 season. They've lost all three of their games this season by one possession and now face the possibility of playing without Baker Mayfield for the foreseeable future. Mayfield suffered a thumb injury late in the 23-16 loss to the Minnesota Vikings
.While everyone knows the Buccaneers are winless at the start of the season, they've set a mark in another way. According to Action Network's Evan Abrams, Tampa Bay has gone 12 straight games without covering the spread. The reason that mark is notable is not only because it signifies the Buccaneers' futility this season, but it's also the first
time since 1966 that has happened.

It's a pretty notable feat to become the first team over the past 60 years to do something. That's exactly what the Buccaneers have done thus far this season.
The 2026 Buccaneers will also be looking to become just the eighth team in NFL history to go to the playoffs after starting 0-3. If there's anything that can make Buccaneers fans feel better, it's that the NFC South once again appears to be the weakest division in football, with the other three teams all 1-2 entering Week 4. The Buccaneers have yet to face any of their division opponents this season.
The Buccaneers will look for their first win of the season when they host the Green Bay Packers in Week 4. It may not be the ideal start to the season that Tampa Bay fans expected, but the Buccaneers' season is far from over.
