The Tampa Bay Buccaneers saw an encouraging sign from Sean Tucker on Thursday, even if his availability for Week 1 remains undecided.
Bucs Wire's River Wells reported that Tucker appeared to participate in some capacity during the portion of Thursday's practice open to the media. The running back is working his way back from a hamstring injury ahead of Sunday's season opener against the Cincinnati Bengals
.The activity comes one day after Tucker missed Wednesday's practice. Head coach Todd Bowles has already described Tucker as a "game-time decision" while he continues his rehab.
That leaves the Bucs with a few more days before they have to determine whether Tucker is ready for game action.
Tampa Bay still has Bucky Irving and Kenny Gainwell available
in the backfield, so there is no reason to rush Tucker onto the field before his hamstring is ready. Tucker's ability to do some work Thursday is at least movement in the right direction after sitting out Wednesday.
His participation level on the final injury report should provide a better indication of where things stand, but Bowles' comments suggest the Bucs may not make the final call until much closer to kickoff.
For now, Tucker remains in the mix for Sunday. Whether he progresses enough to suit up against Cincinnati will be one of Tampa Bay's injury situations to watch heading into Week 1.
