According to Lavonte David, he and Bain are related, though David admitted he doesn't know the exact details of their family connection. Bowles said Bain "understands his lineage" and grew up around players such as David and Calijah Kancey, and that history now comes full circle in Tampa Bay. David helped establish the standard for the Buccaneers' defense over his long career, becoming one of the most productive and respected players in franchise history. Bain is now beginning his own career with the expectation that he can become a major part of the next era of Tampa Bay's defense. The two will have different roles, but there is something fitting about David watching Bain begin his career with the same organization where he spent his entire NFL career.
