The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are less than two weeks away from opening the 2026 regular season, but the availability of one of their veteran linebackers remains uncertain.

, Bucs head coach Todd Bowles said Christian Rozeboom is working his way back from a foot injury but has not yet reached the point where Tampa Bay knows whether he will be available for the season opener against the Cincinnati Bengals.“He's dealing with a foot injury. He's doing some running. I don't know how far away he'll be. He'll be close. We'll see if he makes it,” Bowles said.
Rozeboom made Tampa Bay's initial 53-man roster and provides veteran depth behind projected starters Alex Anzalone and rookie Josiah Trotter. His availability could also matter
on special teams as the Bucs finalize their Week 1 plans.
The encouraging part is that Rozeboom has progressed to running, but Bowles' comments make it clear his status for Cincinnati is still up in the air.
Tampa Bay opens the regular season on Sept. 13 against the Bengals, giving Rozeboom additional time to work his way back before the Bucs have to make a decision on his Week 1 availability.
