Rueben Bain Jr. gets his first career sack
The Bucs drafted Rueben Bain Jr. to become the type of disruptive edge defender they have been missing, but his NFL debut was relatively quiet. Tampa Bay recorded only one sack against Joe Burrow, and that came from linebacker Josiah Trotter on a blitz. The Bucs will want significantly more production from a front that includes Bain, Yaya Diaby, Al Quadin Muhammad, Calijah Kancey and Vita Vea. Cleveland allowed Watson to be sacked five times in Week 1, and Bain has the power to take advantage of a Browns offensive line still trying to find its footing. The rookie gets home at least once and records the first sack of his NFL career.
Bucky Irving goes over 100 yards from scrimmage
Irving picked up where he left off last season in Week 1, finishing with 93 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown
against Cincinnati. He was effective as both a runner and a receiver and became an important part of Tampa Bay's short-passing game. The Bucs do not necessarily have to give Irving 20 carries to make it happen. His involvement as a receiver gives Zac Robinson another way to manufacture touches and get Irving into space. After coming seven yards short in Week 1, Irving reaches triple digits against the Browns.
Baker Mayfield throws three touchdowns with no turnovers
After losing three fumbles against Cincinnati, nobody on Tampa Bay's offense will have more attention on ball security than Baker Mayfield. Those turnovers were a major reason Tampa Bay lost despite Mayfield completing 23 of 28 passes and posting a 98.8 passer rating. Four Bucs fumbles resulted in 24 Cincinnati points. Now Mayfield gets his former team in his first home game of the season, and Cleveland allowed Jacksonville to score 34 points in Week 1, and this could be the game where Tampa Bay finally turns its offensive efficiency into points without giving possessions away. The prediction: Mayfield protects the football, throws three touchdown passes, and finishes the afternoon without a turnover.
