The Tampa Bay Buccaneers received encouraging news Wednesday as Baker Mayfield returned to full participation in practice after missing three games with a right thumb injury. However, wide receiver Emeka Egbuka was among five players who did not practice as Tampa Bay prepares for Sunday's NFC South matchup against the Carolina Panthers.
According to the official injury report released by Buccaneers Communications, Egbuka is dealing with concussion and foot injuries, an unexpected development considering he did not appear to leave Sunday's overtime loss to Pittsburgh with a head injury. The second-year wideout caught 7 passes for 48 yards and a touchdown on 16 targets. The team has not clarified when they identified the concussion, and his availability
for Sunday remains undetermined.
Luke Goedeke (calf), Bucky Irving (illness), Zyon McCollum (illness) and Christian Rozeboom (finger) also missed practice. Antoine Winfield Jr. was limited with a rib injury, while Sean Tucker and Cody Mauch participated fully. Carolina quarterback Bryce Young fully participated despite a knee injury, while running back Chuba Hubbard was held out for rest.
