The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have already found one major piece of their future at wide receiver in Emeka Egbuka. One early 2027 NFL mock draft has them going right back to the position to find another.
CBS Sports' Josh Edwards released his latest first-round mock draft Monday and has the Bucs selecting Indiana wide receiver Charlie Becker with the No. 13 overall pick. Edwards isn't predicting Tampa Bay to finish with the 13th pick, either. The draft order for his mock is based on FanDuel's reverse Super Bowl odds as of Friday afternoon.
Becker would certainly give the Bucs a different type of receiver to pair with Egbuka. Indiana lists the junior at 6-foot-4 and 208 pounds, and his role took off during the second half of the 2025 season. Becker finished
that year with three 100-yard receiving games after seeing most of his early college action on special teams.
The reasoning behind the pick makes sense when looking beyond just 2026. Edwards pointed to the changing look of Tampa Bay's receiving corps, with Mike Evans no longer in Tampa and Chris Godwin aging. Adding Becker would potentially give the Bucs another young receiver to develop alongside Egbuka.
There's obviously a ton of football left before the 2027 draft picture starts to become clear, so nobody should be penciling Becker into a Bucs uniform just yet. But the position itself is worth keeping an eye on.
Tampa Bay just locked Baker Mayfield up through the 2029 season, while Egbuka has already established himself as part of the offense's future. If the Bucs eventually decide it's time to add another young receiver alongside him, CBS Sports has given us an early name to watch.
