Playing with the injury will be a challenge for Hendrickson, particularly when disengaging from offensive tackles or finishing tackles against ball carriers in key situations. His availability, however, will give Baltimore another proven pass-rushing threat as the defense looks to deliver a more consistent performance. Hendrickson’s presence also matters beyond his individual production.

The Ravens allowed the Indianapolis Colts to score on three of their first five possessions in Week 1 before creating enough separation to secure a 41-23 victory. Baltimore will want a cleaner defensive performance against New Orleans, especially early in the game. Hendrickson’s workload and effectiveness will be worth monitoring because of the restrictive cast and the severity of the injury. Still, his expected availability provides an encouraging development for Jesse Minter’s defense.
