The Baltimore Ravens suffered another disappointing defeat Thursday night, falling 33-10 to the Jacksonville Jaguars and dropping to 4-5 after four consecutive losses.
The final score tells only part of the story.
Baltimore struggled to generate a passing offense, repeatedly committed mistakes, and allowed Jacksonville to capitalize on favorable field position.
Here are seven numbers that explain the Ravens' latest defeat.
1. Just 55 net passing yards
The Ravens generated only 55 net passing yards against Jacksonville, a staggering number for a team that entered the season with championship aspirations. Joe Fagnano threw for 60 yards, while Derrick Henry completed one pass for minus-3 yards. Baltimore also lost two yards on a sack.
2. Three turnovers
Baltimore committed three turnovers, including
two Fagnano interceptions and LaJohntay Wester's lost kickoff-return fumble. Those mistakes gave Jacksonville additional opportunities and made a comeback increasingly unlikely.
3. Four consecutive losses
The Ravens have dropped four straight games since opening the season 4-1. Baltimore's record now stands at 4-5, creating significant pressure ahead of its next matchup against the Chargers.
4. Allowed two completions of at least 50 yards
Trevor Lawrence connected with Nate Boerkircher for 52 yards on Jacksonville's opening possession and later found Parker Washington for a 50-yard touchdown.
Those plays demonstrated Baltimore's continued problems preventing explosive passes.
5. Seven penalties
Baltimore committed seven penalties for 46 yards, including repeated false starts. The penalties disrupted drives and created unnecessary challenges for an offense already struggling without its starting quarterback.
6. Four of 14 on third down
The Ravens converted just four of 14 third-down opportunities.
Their inability to sustain drives left the offense without consistent scoring opportunities, even though Baltimore finished with a slight advantage in time of possession.
7. One 65-yard touchdown
Justice Hill's 65-yard touchdown run accounted for Baltimore's only trip to the end zone. The play also represented almost 29% of the Ravens' total offensive production. That is a troubling reflection of a team that struggled to create consistent yardage outside of one explosive run.
Baltimore has time to prepare for its next game, but these numbers reveal problems that quarterback changes alone cannot solve.
