Some losses linger longer than others in fans' and the media's minds. Coaches and players don't have that luxury. Their professions require that they move on much faster than the rest of us. Still, the Baltimore Ravens' recent Week 6 road trip, a loss to the Cleveland Browns, feels like a missed opportunity to take care of business against a division rival.
The afternoon left questions unanswered and raised several new ones. The final score tells only part of the story, and a closer look at the Week 6 loss reveals a few bullet points worth discussing. Here are a few more takeaways from Sunday.
1. Kyle Hamilton ties a personal best in tackles for loss
Kyle Hamilton recorded three tackles for loss against Cleveland, tying the career high he set against the same Browns in a game in Cleveland last season.
He once again disrupted plays near the line of scrimmage, giving Baltimore a disruptive presence throughout the afternoon.
The performance was another reminder of Hamilton's versatility and impact on the defense, even when the final team result doesn't reflect the quality of his individual work. He finished as the team leader in solo tackles (six) while recording seven total tackles. Jaylinn Hawkins and Trenton Simpson tied for the team lead with eight apiece.
2. Derrick Henry’s latest fumble proves costly.
No one will be more disappointed about Derrick Henry's fourth-quarter fumble than Henry is. He's the consummate professional and a true team player who leads by example. Still, every lost fumble proves costly for one reason or another. This one gave Cleveland a bonus possession at Baltimore's 35-yard line and helped the Browns tie the game.
This was Henry's first fumble of the season, but the larger trend is worth noting. He has now lost four fumbles since the start of the 2025 season across 23 games. His three fourth-quarter fumbles during that span are the most by any ball carrier. Coincidentally, Baltimore is now 0-5 since 2024 when their star running back lost a fumble.
3. Baltimore has blown the most double-digit leads since 2018
The defeat marked the Ravens' 17th blown double-digit lead since 2018, the most in the NFL over that span. It's an alarming statistic for a team that has repeatedly put itself in position to win, then let the outcome slip away.
Sunday's loss added another entry to that list, reinforcing the need for Baltimore to find a way to finish games when it has an advantage. This team can beat anyone when playing up to its standard. Conversations about finishing will continue this week.
4. Too many Ryan Eckley appearances in this one
After scoring on their first two possessions, the Ravens punted on five consecutive drives and again on their final two possessions. Eckley's seven punts included a 62-yarder. He also placed three inside Cleveland's 20-yard line.
Eckley’s performance was not the problem; the offense’s inability to sustain drives was.
5. Ravens produce their highest single-game sack total of the season
It feels right to end this one on a high note. After notching five combined sacks in Weeks 1 and 2, Baltimore's defense racked up another five in Weeks 3, 4, and 5. On Sunday, they added five in a single afternoon. We tip our caps to Nnamdi Madubuike, Roquan Smith, Keyon Martin, Tavius Robinson, Calais Campbell, and Trey Hendrickson. All contributed to the tally. Madubuike and Robinson each registered a half-sack as they met Deshaun Watson to dent that portion of the stat sheet.
Worth mentioning:
With another win over the Ravens in Week 6, Deshaun Watson is now 3-0 against Baltimore as Cleveland's starter. The Ravens and Browns meet again in Baltimore two days after Christmas, in Week 16.
