The Baltimore Ravens have certainly been in this position before. A game didn't go the way they wanted. Hey, it happens, but that's the nature of this game. The best teams don't just win. They bounce back despite adversity. One loss cannot fuel the expectation of another.
Four wins, two losses. That's where the Ravens stand after six weeks of in-game action. As the coaching staff and its players unpack an opportunity that slipped away, the most important questions are how this team gets back in the win column and finds its way back to the top of the AFC North.
The players' response afterward reminded us this team has more to lean on than its latest result. Sure, the loss to the Cleveland Browns exposed some concerns, but it also offered a few
reasons for optimism as Baltimore moves forward. Here are four silver linings worth considering after Week 6.
An encouraging show of support for Derrick Henry by his teammates
Derrick Henry expressed regret for his late-game fumble, even reportedly apologizing to his teammates after his turnover helped Cleveland get back into the game. The veteran running back gets credit for taking responsibility, but the locker room's response made it clear that one costly mistake hasn't diminished his standing with the team.
Calais Campbell, Ja'Kobi Lane and Kyle Hamilton were among the Ravens who spoke after the gameand stood behind Henry. Hamilton acknowledged the defense had a chance to pick up its teammate, while Lane expressed confidence Henry would respond the next time he carried the ball. That support matters, especially after a mistake that could easily become frustrating.
Henry knows he must protect the football, but Baltimore also understands what he brings to the team. The best response is to learn from the turnover and move forward together, rather than letting one play define a player who remains central to the offense.
Lamar Jackson will return, but Tyler Huntley remains a capable backup
It wasn't Tyler Huntley's best performance, but one difficult outing shouldn't determine how the Ravens evaluate their backup quarterback. He completed 19 of 31 passes for 165 yards and a touchdown against Cleveland, and Baltimore's offensive struggles extended beyond any single player. Huntley and the offense will need to review the film, identify where things broke down, and find ways to execute more consistently.
This is Lamar Jackson's team, though, and that cannot be said enough. Baltimore is fortunate that his ankle injury hasn't ended his season, leaving open the possibility of his return when he is ready to play. His absence is significant, but the Ravens still have a quarterback they trust to help them navigate the stretch ahead.
Every backup has limitations, and even capable quarterbacks have difficult afternoons. Baltimore can do worse than Huntley, especially if the offense gives him better support and a more consistent foundation.
A steady stream of veteran leadership
It wasn't the desired result, but the Ravens' season is far from over. They lost a divisional game they could have won, yet they remain 4-2 with plenty of football left to play. The challenge now is to turn the disappointment into something productive rather than letting it follow them into the next game.
This roster has veterans who have experienced the NFL's highs and lows, and their influence matters in stretches like this. Campbell's accountability, Henry's willingness to own his mistake, and Hamilton's candid assessment of the defense all reflect players who understand that moving forward requires more than pointing fingers.
Consider the talent and experience Baltimore has assembled. Plenty of NFL organizations would welcome a roster with this much established ability and leadership. That doesn't guarantee a turnaround, but it gives the Ravens a foundation to address their shortcomings and respond to adversity.
The young players continue to impress
Baltimore's 2026 draft class has offered encouraging signs, hinting at what the organization could have moving forward. Ja'Kobi Lane returned to action and caught four passes for 40 yards against Cleveland, giving the offense another young option to develop. Josh Cuevas also caught a touchdown pass, recording Baltimore's only TD of the afternoon.
Those contributions won't erase the disappointment of the loss, but they are meaningful developments for a team trying to find more consistency. Young players who gain experience in difficult games can become valuable contributors as their roles grow, especially when established veterans provide guidance.
The Ravens still have work to do, and optimism shouldn't be confused with pretending otherwise. But with a locker room that continues to support its teammates, experienced leaders who understand the season's demands, and young players showing promise, Baltimore has reasons to believe it can respond. Week 6 was a missed opportunity, not a verdict on the season.
