The Baltimore Ravens will face a far more experienced quarterback one week after Tyler Shough picked apart their defense during a fourth-quarter comeback. Dak Prescott threw four touchdown passes as the Dallas Cowboys defeated the Washington Commanders 37-20. His connection with CeeDee Lamb created immediate problems, while tight end Jake Ferguson caught two touchdown passes. Baltimore allowed Shough to complete 27 of 34 attempts for 252 yards. New Orleans also converted 8 of 15 third downs and both of its fourth-down attempts.
Those problems cannot follow the Ravens to Brazil.
Prescott can identify pressure before the snap and find favorable matchups when opposing defenses reveal their coverage. Lamb’s ability to move between the slot and outside
alignments will test Baltimore’s communication.
Ferguson presents another concern after Chris Olave repeatedly found openings in the middle of Baltimore’s coverage.
The Ravens generated four sacks against New Orleans, including the first Baltimore sacks for Trey Hendrickson and Mike Green. Creating pressure without compromising coverage will be essential against Dallas. Baltimore’s Week 3 response must start with better third-down execution and a plan to prevent Prescott from controlling the game before the snap.
