Lamar Jackson's dominance in season-opening games continued on Sunday afternoon. Baltimore’s 41-23 victory over Indianapolis offered several encouraging developments and a few issues to correct before Week 2.
Stock up: Declan Doyle
Doyle’s regular-season debut produced 506 yards and five touchdowns. His use of motion, misdirection, and play-action repeatedly placed Indianapolis’ defenders in conflict.
Stock up: Derrick Henry
Henry remains one of football’s most dependable closers. He rushed for 144 yards and three touchdowns, including a 32-yard score.
Stock up: Zay Flowers
Before suffering a hamstring injury, Flowers looked capable of challenging for the NFL receiving title. He accumulated 150 yards on only five catches.
Stock up: Chris Moore
Moore was elevated instead of rookie Elijah Sarratt and justified the decision with a 53-yard
reception after Baltimore lost Flowers and Lane.
Stock up: Tyler Loop
Loop made kicks from 57 and 45 yards, providing an encouraging start after an inconsistent preseason and uneven rookie season from long distance.
Stock down: Offensive discipline
Baltimore committed 10 penalties. The offensive line was responsible for several, including two holding calls against rookie right guard Vega Ioane.
Stock down: Wide receiver depth
Flowers and Lane were ruled out, Walker was inactive, and Bateman had a quiet afternoon. Baltimore finished with only three healthy receivers.
Stock down: Early defensive execution
The Colts moved downfield with little resistance on their opening possession. Baltimore recovered, but stronger opponents could turn a similar start into a much larger problem.
