Baltimore's quarterback situation has another intriguing development ahead of Thursday Night Football. Joe Fagnano was spotted practicing with a substantial brace on his right ankle on Tuesday, just two days before the Ravens host the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The development comes after Fagnano was listed as limited on Monday's estimated injury report, leaving questions about his availability for Baltimore's Week 9 matchup at M&T Bank Stadium. Fagnano joined the Ravens' two newest quarterbacks, Kedon Slovis and Austin Reed, on the practice field as Baltimore tries to stabilize a position group decimated by injuries.
The Ravens signed Slovis off the Green Bay Packers' practice squad Tuesday, adding him to their 53-man roster. Reed was signed to Baltimore's
practice squad Monday after spending time with the organization during training camp and the preseason.
As expected, Lamar Jackson (right thumb) and Tyler Huntley (toe) aren’t practicing.

Joe Fagnano working through ankle injury
Fagnano suffered the injury during Sunday's 36-10 loss to the Buffalo Bills, a game in which the undrafted rookie was forced into action after Lamar Jackson and Tyler Huntley exited with injuries. Jackson suffered a right thumb injury on Baltimore's first offensive possession, while Huntley left in the second quarter with a toe injury. Their departures forced Fagnano into his NFL debut despite spending most of the previous week preparing as the scout-team quarterback.
Fagnano completed 10 of 21 passes for 91 yards with an interception and a lost fumble. He also absorbed three sacks as Buffalo's defense overwhelmed Baltimore's struggling offense.
Despite the ankle injury, Fagnano finished the game and remains a potential starter against Jacksonville.
"To Joe's credit, he's kind of fighting through a couple things he's dealing with," Ravens coach Jesse Minter said Monday. "But expect him to have a chance to play on Thursday."
The noticeable brace suggests Fagnano is managing an injury, though his presence on the practice field is encouraging for a team with few healthy options at quarterback.
Ravens add Kedon Slovis and Austin Reed before Week 9
Baltimore's quarterback situation has become increasingly complicated with Jackson requiring surgery and heading to injured reserve. Huntley's toe injury is also expected to keep him out Thursday.
The Ravens have responded by adding two quarterbacks in consecutive days, giving offensive coordinator Declan Doyle additional options if Fagnano cannot play. Slovis appeared in two games with the Arizona Cardinals in 2025 and previously worked with Ravens quarterbacks coach Israel Woolfork. Reed has familiarity with Baltimore's offensive system after participating in the team's preseason.
The additions provide emergency depth, but neither quarterback has extensive regular-season experience in Baltimore's offense. With Thursday's game approaching, the Ravens will continue monitoring Fagnano's ankle and determining whether he can handle his first NFL start.
Baltimore enters the matchup at 4-4 after three straight losses, making the availability of its remaining quarterbacks one of the biggest storylines of Week 9.
