BALTIMORE — O.J. Brigance will be an integral part of the Baltimore Ravens every time they take the field this season. The Ravens announced Saturday that players will wear a helmet decal honoring Brigance throughout the 2026 season. The team revealed the tribute with a simple message: “Forever part of us.”
Brigance died Monday at 56 following a 19-year battle with ALS. His impact on the franchise extended far beyond his playing career. A linebacker and special-teams standout, Brigance made the opening tackle of Super Bowl XXXV and helped Baltimore secure its first NFL championship. He later returned to the organization in 2004 and spent more than two decades working in player development and engagement. Following his ALS diagnosis in 2007, Brigance and his wife,
Chanda, established the Brigance Brigade Foundation to assist individuals and families affected by the disease.
The helmet decal will give Baltimore an opportunity to recognize his courage, leadership and service throughout the season. Brigance was regarded as one of the organization’s most influential figures, and the Ravens will now carry his memory into every game.
