There's only one complication, of course. Call it a 'good problem'. Lamar Jackson isn't most quarterbacks.
During a recent conversation with reporters, Doyle was asked how the Ravens are balancing the structure of their offense with the reality that Jackson remains one of football's most dangerous playmakers when plays break down. "I think Lamar Jackson has done a really good job of buying into what we are asking of him. The footwork, the eyes, the timing... There are still things that we are cleaning up in that regard with the first play."

"You get through one, two, three [reads]... All right, you might get to four and five, but really as that play breaks down, that is when you can go create [plays]."

"You do not want that to be like a fire drill when you take off. You want it to be calculated."
That philosophy extends beyond Jackson.
Earlier in the same media session, Doyle discussed lessons learned during joint practices against the Minnesota Vikings' defense. He explained how reviewing film helps players understand how every assignment impacts everyone else on the field. A mistake by a receiver can affect a quarterback. A missed detail by a lineman can disrupt an entire play.
His message was simple: every player must understand how his job connects to the bigger picture. That lesson becomes even more important when playing with a quarterback who can turn a broken play into a highlight.
The Ravens don't want chaos. They want controlled improvisation. That may sound like a contradiction, but it perfectly captures the challenge Doyle described. Most offensive coordinators spend their careers trying to keep quarterbacks inside the structure of the offense. Doyle's task is more nuanced.
He has to build an offense that values timing and discipline while still leaving room for one of the NFL's most gifted playmakers to create magic when the moment demands it. So far, he believes Jackson is embracing both sides of that equation, and if Baltimore can successfully blend structure with spontaneity, the Ravens may end up with their best version of their franchise quarterback yet.
